Changan Introduces New ‘NEVO’ REEV Brand In Thailand, Might Come Here

Changan Automobile Expands in Thailand: Introducing Nevo, a sub-brand made for REEVs.

Changan Automobile is accelerating its growth in Southeast Asia and will likely come to Malaysia later this year. In Thailand we see the Chinese automotive conglomerate introducing its new brand, Nevo. By implementing a sophisticated multi-brand strategy alongside Deepal, the company aims to secure a position as one of the top three Chinese automotive players in the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving new energy vehicle (NEV) market.

The Dual-Brand Strategy: Deepal vs. Nevo

Changan has clearly defined the roles of its two primary brands to prevent internal competition and maximize market reach.

  • Deepal: Continues to target younger consumers, focusing on sleek, modern designs and cutting-edge digital technology features.
  • Nevo: Positioned as a dedicated family brand under the concept of “The Smart Mobility Home.” Nevo focuses on the pillars of comfort, safety, reliability, and value, specifically targeting the mass-market family segment.

Both brands will collectively cover a strategic price bracket ranging from THB 400,000 to THB 1,400,000, ensuring a high-value option for every tier of the NEV market.

Changan says the Nevo brand is about People-Centricity, Innovation, Openness, and Inclusiveness and it includes range extender electric vehicle (REEV) powertrains in its models whereby the internal combustion engine functions only as a generator to the battery.

Product Roadmap: From Urban EVs to Family SUVs

Changan is significantly diversifying its product portfolio to sustain its growth momentum through 2026 and beyond. Key models in the upcoming lineup include:

  • Changan Lumin: An accessible entry-level model for urban commuters and a practical second vehicle for households.
  • Deepal S05 & S07: These models will anchor the SUV segment, with the S05 serving as a primary sales driver and the S07 targeting the mid-to-high-end market.
  • Nevo Q05: This model is slated to lead the brand’s expansion into the family-oriented NEV segment in 2026.

Looking further ahead, Changan plans to launch two additional SUV models by 2027, supported by a lifecycle management plan that includes regular over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

A Technical Hub for Thailand

Recognizing that after-sales support is critical to long-term success, Changan is establishing a technical centre in Thailand. This facility will specialize in battery, E-drive, and E-control systems, ensuring that local technicians have the expertise to maintain advanced EV components. The company has set an ambitious target of a 93% first-time repair success rate to boost customer confidence.

Strengthening the Dealer Network

To support this massive influx of new models, Changan is expanding its nationwide distribution network. This includes the rollout of the Changan 4.0 showroom standard across Bangkok and major provinces. By strengthening partnerships and modernizing dealer support policies, the company aims to ensure network stability while making its vehicles more accessible to the Thai public.
