From Virtual to Reality: Team Porsche Malaysia Unveils Naquib Azlan for PCCA 2026

The 2026 season of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia marks a significant chapter for Malaysian motorsport as Team Porsche Malaysia reaffirms its dedication to developing local talent.

In partnership with Earl Bamber Motorsport (EBM) and Axle Motorsports, the team is set to compete in the highly competitive PRO category, fielding a 992.2-generation 911 GT3 Cup car.

The Digital Prodigy: Naquib Azlan’s Ascent

At the heart of this year’s campaign is 26-year-old Naquib Azlan, whose journey embodies the modern pathway from virtual racing to international circuits. After being crowned champion of the Driven Dreamers category at the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2025, Naquib was selected for the prestigious Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Talent Pool.

This initiative provides a structured development framework, including professional coaching and training camps. Naquib’s progression serves as a powerful testament to the skill and discipline required in competitive sim racing, proving that elite talent can emerge from the digital arena to compete on Asia’s most demanding grids.

Fastest on the Grid: Pre-Season Performance

Preparation for the 2026 season has already yielded impressive results. During the Official Test Day at the Zhuhai International Circuit, Naquib demonstrated immediate pace, setting the overall fastest lap time of the session with a 1:35.391. This performance highlights his readiness for the GT arena and sets high expectations for the season opener at the Shanghai International Circuit.

A Distinctive Identity: The 2026 Livery

For the upcoming season, Team Porsche Malaysia will compete in a striking distinctive blue livery accented with orange highlights, reflecting the brand identity of Sime Motors. A unique design element on the car’s roof features the official layout of the Porsche Experience Centre Singapore. Expected to open in 2027, this facility will be the 11th of its kind worldwide, signaling Porsche’s long-term commitment to fostering motorsport culture in Southeast Asia.

A Sustainable Pathway for Malaysian Talent

Beyond individual milestones, Naquib’s participation represents Porsche Malaysia’s vision for a sustainable motorsport ecosystem. By providing a bridge from Esports to real-world racing, the brand is opening doors for a new generation of drivers to compete at the highest regional level.
