Proton has officially opened bookings for the Proton X70 Sport Edition (SE), a limited-run evolution of the model that originally sparked the brand’s modern transformation in 2018.
The Proton X70 Sport Edition celebrates the landmark success of a model that has recorded over 114,000 units sold locally since its debut. Based on the 2026 Premium variant, the Sport Edition builds on the X70’s reputation for refinement and technology by adding ten exclusive upgrades valued at approximately RM6,000. Limited to just 600 units, this exclusive variant introduces a suite of styling enhancements designed for customers seeking a more assertive and distinctive presence in the C-segment SUV market.

A Striking Monochromatic Identity
Available exclusively in Quartz Black, the Sport Edition is designed to deliver a commanding road presence through a series of sleek exterior modifications:
- Dynamic Body Kit: Specially designed front, side, and rear skirts create a lower, more athletic stance.
- Exclusive Wheels: The variant features black 19-inch alloy wheels that complement the monochromatic theme.
- Signature Branding: A unique Sport Edition emblem distinguishes the model within the X70 lineup.

Bespoke Interior Detailing
The sporty theme continues inside the cabin, where premium materials meet exclusive design touches. The interior gains a distinct personality through red stitching on the steering wheel, seats, and front armrest. To further mark its exclusivity, the front seats are embroidered with the Sport Edition logo, and a practical boot tray is included for added utility.
Proven Performance and Technology
Underneath the styling upgrades, the X70 SE retains the responsive performance of the 1.5L TGDi engine, which produces 181 PS and 290 Nm of torque. This is paired with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission, delivering a smooth driving experience with a fuel consumption of 6.9L/100km.

The Sport Edition remains a technology leader, featuring:
- Connectivity: A 12.3-inch infotainment head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Convenience: Front ventilated seats, a power tailgate with auto-open functionality, and a dual-zone air-conditioning system with an air purifier.
- Safety: A comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC).
