MG Motor Malaysia has reached a significant milestone in its localization journey with the official launch of the locally assembled (CKD) MG S5 EV. Following its first successful line-off in Melaka earlier this March, the S5 EV is now available to the Malaysian public, strengthening the brand’s commitment to making electric mobility accessible and practical for local drivers.

The locally assembled MG S5 EV is built on a dedicated rear-wheel-drive electric platform, offering a more dynamic driving experience compared to its predecessor. The CKD model features several key performance upgrades:
- Enhanced Power: The motor now produces an upgraded output of 151kW (204 PS) and 350Nm of torque.
- Driving Range: The vehicle offers a flexible driving range of up to 446km (WLTP), suitable for both urban commuting and interstate travel.
- Ultra-Fast Charging: Supporting DC charging of up to 150kW, the S5 EV can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 26 minutes under optimal conditions.
