Earlier this year, Li Auto showed the L9 Livis, the second generation of its full-size, six-seat flagship SUV.
Building on the success of the original 2022 model, the L9 Livis introduces significant hardware upgrades, improved efficiency, and a massive leap in onboard computing power. It was displayed at Auto China 2026 and we thought Malaysians would be interested in this interesting in knowing more about this Chinese flagship option.

Refined Design and Enhanced Dimensions
While the L9 Livis retains the recognizable design language of its predecessor, it features several sleek exterior updates including a new front bumper, redesigned taillights, and flush door handles.

The vehicle has also grown in size to provide a more commanding presence and superior interior room:
- Dimensions: 5,255 mm (L) x 2,000 mm (W) x 1,810 mm (H).
- Wheelbase: Stretched by 20 mm to 3,125 mm.
- Towing Capability: In a major upgrade for lifestyle users, the Livis can now tow up to 1,500 kg—a feature the first-gen model lacked.

Advanced Powertrain and Efficiency
The L9 Livis transitions to a new 1.5-liter L3E15CA engine manufactured in-house by Li Auto’s Suzhou branch.

While peak power remains consistent at 115 kW (154 hp), the integration of this ICE with the electrical system delivers impressive efficiency metrics:
- Battery: A 72.7 kWh ternary NMC battery supplied by CATL.
- Electric Range: Up to 340 km (on 21-inch wheels) or 322 km (on 22-inch wheels).
- Fuel Consumption: Consumes 6.4 liters per 100 km with a drained battery, but just 0.23 liters per 100 km in hybrid mode.
- Top Speed: Increased to 200 km/h, making it 20 km/h faster than the original L9.
Chassis Innovations: 800V Active Suspension
The L9 Livis is a technical powerhouse beneath the skin, featuring an 800V active suspension system capable of lifting each wheel independently with a force of 10,000 Newtons.

To ensure precision handling for such a large vehicle (curb weight up to 2,835 kg), Li Auto has equipped it with:
- Steer-by-wire technology.
- Four-wheel steering for tighter urban maneuverability.
- Fully electronic mechanical braking (EMB).
One of the most significant highlights of the L9 Livis is its computing capability. The vehicle boasts a staggering 2,560 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second), positioning it at the very top of the industry for autonomous driving potential and intelligent cabin interaction.
Pricing and Availability
The Li Auto L9 Livis is scheduled for an official unveiling in March, carrying a price tag of 559,800 yuan (approx. 80,685 USD).
