An all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé debuts without a petrol engine at all.
The high-performance landscape has officially shifted for better or worse with the unveiling of the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé. The engineers at Affalterbach have re-engineered the classic sports car formula, transitioning it into a pure battery-electric vehicle (BEV) where in the past it was a pure ICE or hybrid model. This next-generation four-door sports car catapults driving pleasure to a new level, proving that extreme performance can thrive in an all-electric future.

A Dedicated High-Performance EV Architecture
Unlike converted combustion models, the new AMG GT 4-Door Coupé is built from the ground up on the high-performance AMG.EA (AMG Electric Architecture) platform. Custom-developed entirely in-house at Affalterbach, this dedicated EV platform utilizes a low-slung layout to achieve an exceptionally low center of gravity.

To offset battery weight and maximize structural agility, the platform’s chassis structures make intensive use of lightweight aluminum alloys, optimizing the car’s power-to-weight ratio.

Mind-Bending Power: 1,169 HP from Axial Flux Motors
Emphasizing its new electric identity, the AMG GT debuts a unique drivetrain concept utilizing three innovative axial flux electric motors. These motors are significantly more compact and lighter than conventional radial motors, yet they deliver a staggering combined peak power output of up to 860 kW—equivalent to 1,169 horsepower.

With one motor on the front axle and two separate motors powering the rear, the fully electronic AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system delivers millisecond-by-millisecond adjustments. The dual rear motors enable independent, fully variable wheel-by-wheel torque vectoring, allowing the EV to deliver repeatable sprint performance over marathon distances without thermal throttling.

Formula 1 Battery Tech and 600 kW Ultra-Fast Charging
To support this immense power, Mercedes-AMG integrated an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture paired with a battery system directly derived from Formula 1 racing. Utilizing cylindrical cells structurally integrated into the floor, every individual cell is surrounded by a non-conductive liquid coolant to maintain an optimal 45-degree Celsius operating temperature.

This revolutionary EV setup brings future-proof charging performance:
- Maximum DC Fast-Charging: Up to 600 kW.
- Ultra-Fast Top-Up: Replenish more than 460 kilometers of driving range (WLTP) in just 10 minutes.
Uncompromised Handling and Aerodynamics
The transformation into an electric vehicle has only enhanced the car’s dynamic capabilities. Traditional mechanical anti-roll bars are replaced by the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension system, featuring active, semi-active hydraulic roll stabilization components that adapt compression and rebound forces instantly. Standard active rear-axle steering sharpens low-speed maneuvering while stabilizing high-speed lane changes.

Aerodynamics are managed by an active AEROKINETICS system. Hidden louvers in the front apron, geometric underbody panels creating a Venturi effect, and an active rear spoiler adjust dynamically to maximize downforce and agility.

The Digital Stage and Synthetic V8 Soundtrack
The exterior maintains taut, low-slung coupe proportions, enhanced by flushed electronic door handles and an illuminated digital radiator grille. Inside, the driver-centric luxury cabin features an AMG Real Performance Sound system. This electronic acoustic system generates a synthetic sound signature modeled after traditional AMG V8 engine notes, ensuring that the emotional auditory thrill of an AMG is preserved in a modern, zero-emissions format.
