200,000th Zeekr 7X Has Been Produced In China

The Zeekr 7X has hit a significant production milestone: 200,000 units have been made.

When it comes to premium electric mobility, it’s hard to deny that the Zeekr 7X is a great all-rounder. Despite not having a legacy badge, the Zeekr 7X has broken onto the scene with loads of tech and a very reasonable asking price. It’s no surprise that the 200,000th unit has just been made in China.

Zeekr 7X

According to CarNewsChina, the 180,000th 7X was delivered back in July of 2026, of which 136,000 consist of domestic Chinese sales. Based on JPJ’s registration data, around 3,650 Zeekr 7X have been sold in Malaysia. However, the rules around EV excise duties and import taxes have changed and Zeekr Malaysia will have to figure out how to keep the momentum up since its local-assembly plans have yet to be finalized.

So far, we’ve heard that Zeekr intends to use DRB-HICOM’s Tanjung Malim Automotive Hi-Tech Valley (AHTV) facilities for local assembly. Unfortunately, the facilities there are still not set-up. If Zeekr Malaysia played by MITI’s latest rules, they would be allowed to import the Zeekr 7X if it had a power output above 180kW (which it does on all variants) AND it had a landed Cost, Insurance, and Freight (CIF) value of at least RM200,000. So, will the Ministry of Trade and Industry grant an exception based on the reality on the ground? Did Zeekr Malaysia bring in enough cars to supply their needs for the foreseeable future? Will Zeekr stoop to selling the same car for around RM300,000 under the new rules?

Whatever the case may be, it’s worth noting that the 7X is due an upgrade. In China, the model is ALREADY sitting on a 900V architecture but even this is old news. Right now, the market is anticipating a minor spec update. In terms of looks, there will be new colour and upholstery options. As for changes under the skin, one can expect a new 85kWh Aegis Golden Brick LFP battery pack option. Currently there are 75kWh and 100kWh battery pack options, so this will replace the base model and likely bring its WLTP range close to 600KM. Aegis Golden Brick batteries are built in-house by Geely and have a claimed durability of 1,000,000 KM and 3,500 charging cycles.
