Volvo Contest Winner

For Harry Ho, an impromptu decision to enter the Volvo ‘Get Set to Get More’ contest paid off in spades when the 59-year-old found himself driving home a RM10,000 voucher redeemable for Volvo parts and accessories. “I am extremely surprised,” said Ho after being notified of his first-prize win. “I saw the contest form at my regular Volvo service centre where I was getting my Volvo XC70 repaired, filled it in and forgot completely about it. I don’t even remember the slogan I came up with!” The happy owner of a XC70, Ho has been faithfully servicing his Volvo at the Federal Auto Service Centre in Penang for the past eight years. In fact, this Volvo enthusiast is no stranger to the range of comprehensive services Volvo’s authorised dealers offer, having bought his first Volvo way back in 1971!

“My first Volvo was a 122S,” said the managing director of a Penang-based agricultural firm. “I tried some other continental and Japanese brands, but came back to Volvo when I bought a 940 in 1998 before purchasing my XC70 in 2001. They offer safety uncompromised, and that’s why I go with Volvo.”

The ‘Get Set to Get More’ contest ran from 1st December 2009 to 28 February 2010. Among other thing, the campaign encouraged Volvo owners to have their vehicles serviced or repaired at any authorised service centre just before or during the Chinese New Year festive season. This was one way to encourage Volvo owners to have roadworthy cars for safer travelling.
