With nearly 2,000 units sold since the debut of the second-generation Kia Sportage in Malaysia in 2004, the new facelifted model brings a fresh design to a vehicle well known for its value, comfort and safety features.
The new model comes with a new rear garnish, rear combination lamp and dual tailpipes to enhance its sporty appeal. Furthermore, it now features indicator signals on the side instead of the outer mirror and new fog lamps to lend the vehicle a more premium feel. Other new additions at the exterior include heated windshields, flip-up glass and a new radiator cover.
Inside, the spacious cabin, which seats five adults comfortably, now features a combination of fabric and leather on the seats, a new rear parcel shelf, enhanced door lights and illumination on the sunvisor vanity mirror. The new facelifted Kia Sportage is equipped with a 2.0L CVVT petrol engine that produces 142 PS of power and 184 Newton Metres of torque and is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission with shiftronic/H-Matic. The Kia Sportage comes with anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD) and dual airbags at the front. Despite all the new additions to the Kia Sportage, Naza Kia is maintaining its price at RM112,000 OTR.
With the next generation Sportage (pictured below) soon in European markets, we wait for its introduction here in Malaysia in the near future.
