Volkswagen Golf R Is Confirmed
The Volkswagen Golf ‘R’ will arrive in Malaysia possibly late 2011 or in early 2012 in a four-door form. The latest version of the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system and an upgraded sport suspension will help increase this Golf’s handling abilities as a threat to the EVO X and Impreza. Better brakes are also part of the package. Of course, no limited-edition performance car like this would be complete without a number of visual add-ons. You’ll find unique 18-inch alloy wheels, steering wheel, shift knob, door sills, front and rear fascia with dual exhaust, and unique interior trim. It will produce 270 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and will be mated to a DSG transmission. A claimed 0-62 mph time is 5.5 seconds with the DSG and a top speed of 155 mph.
