0Mazda Aims For Top Sales Position In Malaysia
Mazda in Malaysia is all set to ramp up the excitement for the brand with a range of tantalising new models and ample opportunities for car enthusiasts and loyal fans to get up close and personal with them during the “Mazda Motor Show”. The star of the shows will surely be the Mazda MPS – the already desirable Mazda3 hatchback that has gone through the magic of Mazda Performance Series, the official performance and sporting division of this Japanese car maker. The stunning newcomer delivers exhilarating performance, powered by the MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo engine and enhanced all round to match the promise of both the engine and the head-turning looks.
The Mazda MPS alone would be worthy of a roadshow but the other models imported by Prima Merdu Sdn Bhd make up a complete event for car lovers of all ages. They offer an unbeatable spread of choices to cater to various budgets and lifestyles, ranging from the MX5 and the RX8 for pure driving pleasure, to the CX9 and CX7 for upmarket ruggedness, with the youthful and popular Mazda2 and the Mazda6 executive sedan in between, as well as the Mazda5 and Mazda8 luxury people-carriers. And then there is the Mazda3, now made more affordable with local assembly, but with the renowned quality of the brand intact, available in both sedan and hatchback choices. The Mazda3 began rolling out of the production line in January 2011 at the Inokom assembly plant in Kedah, where production is expected to be 3,000 units a year.
“We’re confident that the Mazda3 MPS and CKD will boost the growing appeal of the Mazda marque in Malaysia, which is also a factor that has made local assembly and bringing in performance models viable,” said Dato’ Ben Yeoh, chief executive officer of Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd which is the exclusive distributor for Malaysia.
“Malaysia is now a strategic and growing market for Mazda, which now intends to strengthen its presence here with a growing range of competitively priced and appealing models that will appeal to everyone from driving enthusiasts and young executives to those who want a good looking car with some added Zoom to it,” added Yeoh, when speaking in Shah Alam today.
Malaysians will get a first hand look at the new models during the “Mazda Motor Show”, which will be held on the ground floor of the new wing of 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 2 to 6 March 2011. Throughout the “Mazda Motor Show”, customers who sign for any of the Mazda models stand to win vouchers worth RM200 up to RM9,000 depending on the model purchased, which can then be redeemed for accessories purchases or offset as a cash discount. In addition to the vouchers, each purchase is complemented with 3 years free warranty, maintenance and road-tax for their cars for an affordable and hassle free Mazda ownership experience.
