Mercedes C63 Coupe From AMG Will Be A Hit With Malaysians

The latest addition to the German automaker’s ever-expanding stable of AMG performance models shares much of its go-fast hardware with the latest C63 AMG Coupe. Just like the C63 AMG sedan and wagon variants, power output stays the same via a 6.3-liter (6208cc) V8 engine with 451 hp (336 kW / 457 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. Connected through a seven-speed SpeedShift MCT transmission, the coupe dashes from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, also the same as the C63 sedan. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). The optional AMG Performance Package increases output to 480 hp (358 kW / 487 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. The additional 30 horsepower enables the coupe to sprint from 0-100 km/h one-tenth of a second faster to 4.4 seconds.

The C63 AMG Coupe features an “Edition 1” version with AMG sports seats, door panel centers and armrests upholstered in black designo leather with contrasting porcelain seams on the sports seats. Also, other trim pieces have a porcelain piano-lacquer look. The AMG performance steering wheel has been given a two-tone wrap using black nappa leather with the lower section in porcelain designo leather. Naturally, “Edition 1” badges are seen throughout. On the outside, AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in matt black give a unique look. As an option, the standard metallic paintwork can be swapped for a matt finish in designo magno night black or diamond white metallic BRIGHT.

The basic engine in both C63 AMG models is the familiar AMG-tuned 6.2-liter V8, which delivers 451 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. An optional performance package pushes output to 481 hp. With that package, top speed climbs from 155 mph to 174 mph, and 0-60 acceleration is trimmed from 4.4 to 4.3 seconds. Both cars also feature AMG’s Speedshift MCT seven-speed gearbox.

The new C63 AMG Coupe has wider front and rear tracks, with stiffer spring and damper rates, a high-performance braking system with ventilated and perforated discs, and speed-sensitive sport steering. The car rides on new 18-inch AMG alloy wheels painted titanium gray with 235/40R18 front tires and 255/35R18 rears. The exterior has been dressed up with new front and rear aprons, a new grille, clear-lens headlamps, side sills, a “powerdome” hood and a deck lid spoiler.

The cockpit of the C63 AMG Coupe is equally arresting, with a three-dial AMG gauge cluster, a flattened sport steering wheel with multifunction buttons and paddle shifters, sport seats offered in a choice of leather or a new breathable man made fabric, and a choice of piano-black lacquer, aluminum, carbon fiber or wood accents and trim.
