0Chevrolet Volt capable to travel 1,600 kilometers on a single tank of fuel
A group of early customers of General Motors Co.’ Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid revealed that they managed to travel some 1,000 miles (about 1,600km) before they needed to fill up their fuel/petrol tank, The vehicle model initially runs on batteries and once the charge drops, it switches to a petrol-powered electric generator. Such great mileage and feature make the Volt a practical vehicle to use for daily use. The automaker sold 1,210 Chevrolet Volt units in the United States during the first quarter. The vehicle is set to penetrate the European market in November at an initial price of 41,950 euros and Malaysia’s introduction will be much later at the end of 2012 as right hand drive versions need to be produced first and will be taken up by more mature markets initially.
