JK Racing Asia Series Auer Takes Pole to Flag Win
Lucas Auer of EuroInternational claimed a brilliant pole to flag victory in today’s Round 2 of the JK Racing Asia Series at Sepang International Circuit. The young Austrian drove consistently and managed to keep second and third placed finishers behind him despite the duo being on his pace. Afiq Yazid and Nabil Jeffri completed the podium after an outstanding battle to the finish line where the duo changed positions several times towards the end of the race. The three leading drivers all managed to clock mid 2minutes 11seconds laps with Nabil Jeffri claiming the fastest lap of the day with 2:11.495.
“It was a good race. The start was very good and on the first lap I had to defend my position twice. The second and third drivers were both really quick and were exactly the same pace” said Auer after the race.
“It was a nice race, I could drive consistently and set quick times. The tyres, the car and everything was just really really good. I have to thank my team, they did a good job” ended the EuroInternational driver.
“First of all, I want to thank my team, my sponsor Petronas and my parents who are supporting me. My team did a good job for this race and I am thankful also to Firhat for his guidance” said Yazid.
“I feel happy about the race and it was very interesting towards the end. I struggled a lot with my car towards the end and it was hard to handle in sector three and four. I just kept a consistent pace” smiled the Meritus GP driver.
For Jeffri, it was a good race outing with a fun battle “First of all I’m thankful to the team. They did a great job on the car and the setup. It was a really tough race for me as Ikhwan was good in maintaining his position. “At the end of the day, it was a good race. Two podiums for me this weekend and I think it was a brilliant result” ended Jeffri.
