0Subaru Unveils New Impreza
Subaru is launching a roomier and more modern looking Impreza compact. The redesigned 2012 sedan and five-door hatchback Impreza was unveiled at the recent New York auto show.
Subaru have not released much details but said the Impreza will have an estimated highway fuel economy rating of 36 mpg. The 2012 Impreza is expected to use Subaru’s new four-cylinder boxer engine and a new continuously variable transmission.
Subaru without providing dimensions said the car will have more interior room and improved levels of comfort and refinement. The current Impreza has been criticized for its lack of rear-passenger room. Subaru has been improving the interior room of its vehicles as they are renewed, giving vehicles like the larger Legacy more competitive rear leg-room space. Building cars has never been about design at Subaru. The company that once advertised how ugly its vehicles were is an organization that is driven by resolute engineers with a deep respect for practicality. It’s not daring, but the design theme infuses the Impreza with a bold and aggressive character that feels much more connected to the STI.
