Volkswagen Malaysia promises speedy solution to Passat supply delay

As the Royal Malaysian Customs is currently re-evaluating cars that are imported into the country, the delivery of the Volkswagen Passat CC has been delayed due to the re-evaluation exercise. This re-evaluation may also cause prices of the vehicle to change after the completion of the exercise. The new shipment of the Volkswagen Passat CC cars are at the port awaiting clearance and will be released once the re-evaluation is completed. For Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM) customers who have signed a sales contract with our authorised dealers for the car before April 7 2011, VGM will undertake to sell the Passat CC to these customers at the current retail price. Customers who have placed their bookings from April 8, 2011 onwards will be sold the Volkswagen Passat CC at the new retail price. “We are currently working with all parties to reach a swift and amicable resolution to this matter,” said Mr. Ricky Tay, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group Malaysia. Mr. Ricky Tay added: “We hope to resolve the matter as soon as possible.”
