Bahrain Grand Prix will take place on October 30

The Bahrain Grand Prix will take place on October 30, which means that it replaces the Indian Grand Prix, which would then be the last round of the 2011 Championship, together with the FIA Annual General Assembly and Prize-Giving Gala. The FIA’s decision was welcomed by the Bahrain International Circuit. Zayed R. Alzayani, Chairman of the Bahrain International Circuit, in a statement, expressed his gratitude in behalf of Bahrain for the “support and understanding” of Bernie Ecclestone, Jean Todt and the FIA well as the other members of the motorsport family. The decision was made after FIA Vice President Carlos Gracia’s visit to Bahrain on May 31. The original plan had been for Bahrain to be a season opener in the 2011 series but due to security reasons, Bahrain was dropped from the schedule. With Bahrain’s reinstatement, it’s apparent that there is reconciliation in Bahrain.
