0ISUZU Dealers Raise RM22k Donation For Japan
Touched by the scenes in news reports of the recent tragedies in Japan, Isuzu Malaysia’s network of dealers rallied together to raise funds in aid of the victims. From their effort, a total of RM 22,000.00 was raised and handed over to representatives of the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) to be disbursed to the Japanese Red Cross Society to help with their relief efforts. According to CEO of Isuzu Malaysia Takashi Hata, the fund-raising effort was initiated by the dealers who collectively pooled their resources to provide aid to those who suffered the effects of the natural travesty.
“Some scenes that played on TV and those captured in the newspapers were too moving to ignore. It really touched them that the simple people who made their living near the sea had their lives and homes destroyed in such a devastating manner,” said Hata.
Takashi Hata then represented the dealers, handing over their contribution to the Secretary General of MRCS Datuk Hj Noordin bin Hj Abdul Razak at a simple ceremony in Kuala Lumpur recently.
Thanking the Isuzu dealers, Datuk Hj Noordin said that the Malaysian Red Crescent Society was pleased by efforts of numerous individuals and corporations who recognized the need to stand united with their fellow man when tragedies befall.
“One of the hallmarks of the efforts by the Malaysian Red Crescent Society is to see people of various ethnic and social backgrounds who continually support relief efforts regardless of the tragedy or where it happens. It is this sense of monumental humanitarian desire to help the faceless victims that make our cause such a rewarding one,” said Datuk Hj Noordin.
