ISUZU Pushing Ahead In Light Of Increased Competition

Isuzu Motors of Japan is keen to strengthen its presence in the growing Malaysian truck market. This leading Japanese truck manufacturer is aiming to gain a bigger share of the truck and also pickup market here through an enhanced product range and better customer support. Seeing as the competition will be getting stronger next year with Ford launching the all new Ranger and Chevrolet introducing the Colorado in months, Isuzu needs to maintain its current market leadership in the pickup truck segment.

The light duty truck market absorbs approximately 13,000 units annually and currently, Isuzu Malaysia enjoys a 20 percent share. It is aiming to improve on this to 40 percent within the next two years. This commitment was made following the appointment of Kimitoshi Kurokawa as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Isuzu Malaysia. Mr Kurokawa who is the appointee of Isuzu Motors Limited, will be aiming to foster relations between the principal company in Japan and the operations here in Malaysia. To streamline operations of the company in light of the growing portfolio, Isuzu Malaysia has created a new position of Chief Operating Officer and has appointed Daisuke Ishida to the position.

Isuzu Malaysia, which was incorporated in 2004 currently markets and distributes Isuzu pick-up trucks and light commercial vehicles including the award-winning Isuzu D-Max and the globally-popular N-Series light trucks. The company will be expanding its range to include various lines of Isuzu products including the proven F-Series medium duty trucks that have provided reliable service in numerous international markets.

The new operational structure in Isuzu Malaysia will be particularly beneficial to owners who will be looking for customized solutions for their specific business needs.
