0Ford EcoBoost engines in 4 more vehicles in 2012
With the continued success of its EcoBoost engines gaining momentum, Ford will be installing EcoBoost engines in 11 vehicles in 2012, an increase from seven in 2011. Ford also plans to triple the production capacity of EcoBoost-equipped vehicles. The company is counting on its range of turbocharged EcoBoost engines to boost fuel economy benefits without having to sacrifice performance. In North America last year, Ford built 127,883 automobiles with the engine. If that production is tripled, Ford would roll out at least 383,000 units fitted with the engines this year. The company has recently disclosed that it will bring variants of the EcoBoost engine in the Escape and Focus. Ford will deliver the new Escape and the Focus later this year in our region. Be patient for the Malaysian introduction this year for the Escape and Focus.
