Jaguar Introduces XK and XKR Special Edition
Already fitted with some of the best quality materials in the world with unquestionable build quality, Jaguar now has taken the XK and XKR range and made even more lavish with the addition of XK and XKR Special Edition models. These improve the luxurious quality with the launch of the hand-crafted ‘Artisan’ interiors. The Special Edition model’s Artisan interior is offered in both coupe and convertible form, presenting the use of the tactile ‘scraffito’ finished leather to the front seats, instrument binnacle, door and rear quarter casings. Each Special Edition model comes with a raised level of opulence and comfort due to its combined Poltrona Frau leather headlinings, two new veneer finishes (Shadow Walnut and Dark Figured Aluminium, and standard features such as a 525W Bowers & Wilkins sound system, 16 by 16 way adjustable heated Performance seats, a heated steering wheel and keyless entry/start.
Jaguar’s design team, which is headed by Director of Design Ian Callum, created two exclusive Artisan interior colourways for the Special Edition models. These are Navy with Jet headlining and Truffle with Canvas headlining. The available convertible hood colors include Black, Blue, Grey and Brown. In addition, they offer Special Edition treadplates and stainless steel pedals as subtle improvements. Its exterior paint palette of six colors includes the Special Edition colour of Celestial Black, with Crystal Blue, Lunar Grey, Polaris White, Rhodium Silver and Ultimate Black as the alternative options.
The exterior revisions include two new 20-inch alloy wheel designs; Venom wheels that are diamond turned with a dark grey finish, and the Orona style with the polished finish. The advanced engineering techniques are inherent to the entire Jaguar XK and XKR range. Jaguar leads the industry in its use of aluminum technology. The coupe and convertible models both use riveted and bonded aluminum monocoque construction that results to a light weight and excellent rigidity and strength. Together with continuously variable adaptive damping (which are standard on all models), the 5.0-litre direct-injection V8 petrol engines come in either 385PS naturally-aspirated or, for the XKR, 510PS supercharged form.
