Volkswagen Group Puts An Impressive Show At Geneva

It’s the evening before the opening day(press day) for the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. We are attending the Volkswagen Group Night event which will showcase an impressive 11 new concepts/production vehicles. All vehicles were showcasing VW’s latest tagline, ‘passion and emotion’ which is important to keep their market leadership. With a strong emphasis on sustainability.

The evening shows started with an introduction of the Groups 2012 strategy and then one by one the automotive brands under the Volkswagen guardianship drive on to the main stage their latest products that will some shocked at its performance capabilities and for some others it is a grand plans to rule certain vehicle segments.
Bugatti is the 1st with their Veyron roadster capable of jet fighter acceleration and driver comforts never seen before in any roadster…..more to come later today.

Lamborghini shows a one off open top supercar made of super-lightweight material that was innovated in house by Lamborghini engineers. With just 1 unit produced and already sold for 1 million EUROS to a lucky customer, this car will be defiantly put into production in the near future.

Bentley drove in their all new SUV which looked more like an ‘over the top’ sedan with looks that will have the super millionaires running to order their car asap.

Volkswagen themselves had the new SUV inspired coupe concept which had a 1st showing in the recent Tokyo Motor Show drawn up ready for showrooms duty.

Next was the Amarok pickup truck with an all new rugged look and a fuel efficient 8-speed gearbox which will go almost everywhere.

Skoda showed their compact version of the super popular VW UP 4-door and with more streamlined looks, its global acceptance is set to be huge.

SEAT had a new global sedan, the new Toledo with a coupe like hatchback look that provides huge luggage room and class leading rear legroom which showed similarities to the very popular VW Jetta.

Porsche had their latest Boxster driven in by their CEO. With stronger engine lineup, ‘Spyder’ looks and a soft-top that folds neatly into the rear hatch in a record 9 seconds, this Boxster will see many new owners in Malaysia.

Audi had the latest A3 with a new range of power plants, 4-wheel drive and lighter weight to lead in fuel efficiency and drive dynamics.
