0Citroën Rolls Out the 200,000th DS3
Even with a huge financial crisis and dwindling sales Citroen has rolled its 200,000th DS3 off the production line at its Poissy plant in France. The 200,000th DS3 represented a significant milestone for the success of the model, which was the eldest among the DS family. Citroën introduced the DS3 in Europe and Russia in 2010 and in Argentina in 2011. The French carmaker then introduced the DS3 in Brazil in the first half of 2012 and in China in the later half. Aside from the main DS3 range, Citroën also built a number of successful DS3 special editions, which included the dynamic DS3 Racing; the stylish DS3 by Orla Kiely and the high-end DS3 Ultra Prestige. Citroën Racing is continuing to reap success in the DS3 WRC, giving the car a more reputable name. The French carmaker is slated to unveil a soft-top version of the DS3, the DS3 Cabrio, in 2013, adding more options for customers who want this popular model line. The DS3’s attention-grabbing looks and creative technologies earned the model a number of awards in Europe.
