BMW F 700 GS and BMW F 800 GS In Malaysia Now

BMW Group Malaysia has raised the benchmark in superior riding and off-road motorcycle performance with the introduction of the new BMW F 700 GS and the enhanced BMW F 800 GS enduros by BMW Motorrad.
Designed for a new generation of enduro customers, the all new BMW F 700 GS is catered for aspirational off-road riders and delivers practical all-round capabilities for everyday use while the BMW F 800 GS combines touring capability with superior off-road qualities. Both models also deliver exceptional fuel saving efficiency and are amongst the most advanced motorcycles in the world in terms of dynamism, efficiency and active safety technology.

Enhanced Agility With Top Class Handling.
Replacing the previous BMW F 650 GS, BMW Motorrad now introduces the BMW F 700 GS, a motorcycle geared more towards motorcyclists who do not yet need a high level of technical off-road expertise, but has the need to experience a motorcycle capable for all-round everyday use with more than sufficient power with outstanding economy.
With the new BMW F 800 GS, BMW Motorrad challenged themselves once again to make an already good endurance motorcycle, even better. Aesthetically, the BMW F 800 GS delivers immense versatility and robust performance for both road and off-road qualities, combining both worlds together to an extent not previously seen in the typical enduro bikes. Displaying a prominent style and striking body features, a new build structure for both models includes a redesigned “beak” situated right above the mudguard – A classic BMW GS hallmark which also provides excellent functionality as a splash guard.
Newly revised side trims accentuate the individual personalities of the new BMW F 700 GS and BMW F 800 GS with the former displaying a sophisticated urban character while the latter demonstrates a masculine look and feel which hints of its off-road capabilities. Dynamic design lines accentuate the contemporary look of both models and further contribute to their dynamic performance capabilities.

The Well-Proven Parallel Twin – Now With Increased Output and Torque
In terms of superior performance, both models are fitted with a 798 cc, liquid-cooled 4-valve 2-cylinder engine, electronic fuel injection, closed-loop catalytic converter and a 6-speed gearbox. A key unique feature offered is the additional connecting rod which ensures that the 2-cylinder runs with as minimal vibration as possible. The new BMW F 700 GS projects an impressive output and torque boost with its engine now delivering a maximum torque of 77Nm at 5,300rpm. The BMW F 800 GS still sustains smooth power delivery of 63 kW (85hp) at 7,500 rpm, and a peaking torque of 83 Nm at 5,750 rpm.

ABS Offered As Standard Feature in Both Models.
Abiding to BMW Motorrad’s “Safety 360o” principle, BMW Motorrad ABS is provided as a standard feature in both the new BMW 700 GS and the BMW 800 GS. This new system provides an even lighter and more compact system than the previous generation which further contributes to its overall agility, dynamism and efficiency. The two models also contain valves that can be infinitely adjusted and new wheel sensors that are able to self-monitor and gauge the distance between sensor and sensor wheel, ensuring that the bike is moving in a safe speed by monitoring the rotation of the wheels. Other safety-related innovations within their respective classes such as the ASC (Automatic Stability Control) and ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) are  also provided as a standard feature for both the BMW F 700 GS and BMW F 800 GS.
Clean-cut Design Outlines, Slim Fit Features and New Paint Finishes.
A new dial face makeover arranged vertically at the cockpit of the bike ensures better legibility of the speed and engine reading, and riders are now also able to receive information on the fuel consumption and coolant temperature with ease. To further increase a dynamic riding performance, the new BMW F 700 GS and BMW F 800 GS features new smoke grey glass covers on their turn indicators as well as the cover of the rear LED light. The new upgraded models now carry the latest generation of BMW Motorrad switches which are much smaller in size and more compact thanks to MID (Molded Interconnect Design) technology. This revolutionary invention uses printed conductors rather than individual wiring to operate, offering a wider range of functions while providing a much more distinct design with optimum usability.
Some of the functions that encompass the MID technology are the left and right turn indicators which are now infused into a single function on the left-hand side of the handlebars. At the top of the left-hand handlebar panel, a more visible switch is embedded for the hazard warning flashers. For convenient access, the left index finger is integrated with just one switch for the low beam, high beam and headlamp flasher functions.
Steering down to the frame design, both the BMW F 700 GS and BMW F 800 GS feature slimmer seat and front structures due to the reduced width of the overall frame and engine. The low centre of gravity creates outstanding off-road qualities with full manoeuvring control, together with a narrow steering head and wide handlebars which are of particular use over rough terrain. For improved ride comfort both the BMW F 700 GS and BMW F 800 GS offer a wide range of optional adjustments on the hand levers for the front brake and clutch as well as wide vibration-damping footrests with removal rubber tops to generate smooth handling and exceptionally pleasant rides.
New colour concepts are made available as well to reflect the more sharply drawn characters of both models. The colours offered for the new BMW F 700 GS are Ostra Grey metallic, Red Apple metallic and Glacier Silver metallic. As for the new BMW F 800 GS, three choices of colours are offered, Kalamata metallic matt, Cordoba blue and Alpine white 3.
The new BMW F 700 GS and BMW F 800 GS will be available at all authorised BMW Motorrad dealerships nationwide from Friday, 22nd March 2013. The retail prices (on the road without insurance) are: BMW F 700 GS  –  RM79, 800 and BMW F 800 GS  –  RM89,800
