McLaren P1 Almost Sold Out
McLaren Cars UK have been receiving orders of the all new P1 ever since the almost identical concept car was brought to the Paris motor show last year. At the Paris show, McLaren had received about 700 serious potential buyers. While McLaren has originally claimed that fewer than 500 samples of this model will be built, several early buyers have suggested that the number of cars produced be lowered so that the car will be even more exclusive.
McLaren said that for many buyers, the exclusivity matters more than its performance and price. Aside from not wanting to arrive at an event where someone else has the same car, they also want the car’s value to increase over time. In addition, McLaren has been encouraging people to drive these cars and not just buy them as an investment.
A side note to take…… the RM5 million plus LaFerrari supercar has not yet been sold out but Ferrari marketing chief Nicola Boari thinks that they are only waiting for it to be formalized. He said that the company expects that all 499 cars will be sold soon after they get in touch with their 700 most exclusive customers.
