HONDA MALAYSIA ENCOURAGES MOTORISTS TO PRACTISE ROAD SAFETY

Road safety is everyone’s responsibility and Honda Malaysia would like to instill this message to all motorists during this festive season.  Following the positive response of the Road Safety activities undertaken last year, Honda Malaysia is extending it to include a Free 22-Point Inspection at select PLUS Highway Rest Stop and Service Areas for all Honda cars that will be on the road this coming Hari Raya peak travel period.

The Honda 22-Point Inspection free service will be available at four main locations during the Hari Raya ‘Balik Kampung’ period, covering North-Bound traffic and South-Bound traffic.

Honda Malaysia’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Yoichiro Ueno said, “Safety is always our priority. There are three key aspects that help ensure safer roads – the car, road conditions and human factor i.e. drivers. This Road Safety activity during festive season is part of our efforts to educate on easy safety steps and address the human factor aspect. Besides our efforts in ensuring high level of safety in all Honda vehicles, we are also committed towards promoting safer roads as we dream of a day where there will be zero road accidents.”

“We hope to contribute to the joy of Malaysian motorists during this Hari Raya celebration with this friendly reminder to practise good car maintenance and be extra observant when traffic is heavy. I would like to encourage all Honda owners to service and inspect their vehicles at any of our 64 dealers nationwide especially before travelling with family members for a smoother and safer journey ahead,” he added.

All Honda owners who are traveling in the weekend just before Hari Raya are welcomed to have their cars inspected on 4 main inspection sections of fluid, basic function, system and exterior of vehicle. This free inspection will take about 10-15 minutes per car and is not meant to replace the maintenance or service required. It will however, act as a stop-gap measure for motorists who have forgotten to check their cars before starting the journey. It aims to contribute towards a safer and hassle-free journey for motorists.

This value-added service offered by Honda Malaysia aims to further cement their customers trust and give them invaluable peace of mind as they travel back to their hometowns.

In the run-up to the 22-Point Inspection at these four PLUS Highway Rest Stops, Honda Malaysia took to the toll booths of Sg Besi and Duta Toll Plazas a week before the anticipated traffic rush, to gently remind Malaysian motorists to be extra careful and more observant when on the road.

Safety tips with highway emergency contact numbers were handed out in a leaflet format, accompanied by bottled water, mints and dates (kurma). The management and associates of Honda Malaysia were at hand at the toll plazas in Kuala Lumpur, to help hand out the packs that drive home the message that safety on the road starts with each and every one of us.

The Honda ‘Road Safety At Your Finger-Tips’ leaflet uses interesting illustrated visuals to convey safety tips to practise before and during a road trip. Motorists are also encouraged to key in the provided Hotline and Toll Free Numbers of major highways, which will definitely come in handy if there is an emergency on the road.

Honda Malaysia is one of the first non-national car makers that believes in proactively advocating road safety and aims to educate motorists of the crucial need of servicing their cars regularly at authorized service centers and using genuine parts. Honda also aspires to ensure that all Honda vehicle owners receive the best after sales service at their convenience and reach. It is part of Honda Malaysia’s efforts towards attaining No. 1 in Customer Satisfaction.
