Audi’s striking new 5-door A5 Sportback at RM359,900.00
Euromobil Sdn Bhd, the official importer of the Audi marque in Malaysia has officially announced the arrival of a new entrant in the A5 model range. The striking new 5-door A5 Sportback is now available for bookings with immediately delivery from OTR RM359,900.00. The new A5 Sportback subtly blends its additional doors into the sweeping curves that are instantly recognisable hallmarks of the A5 Coupé, and fully justifies their presence through an extended chassis that enables it to run the spacious A4 saloon close on rear head and leg room. The benefits of the increase in wheelbase length from 2,751mm in the Coupé to 2,810mm are also evident in the load bay – with a 480 litre capacity. When luggage takes priority, the rear seat backs are folded down freeing a total of 1,283 litres.
The A5 Sportback is equipped with the legendary quattro all-wheel drive and is mated to the latest generation seven speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission, which seamlessly launches from 0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds. Powered by the 2.0 TFSI turbocharged and direct injected, four cylinder engine, it churns 225hp and 350Nm of torque between 1,500 -4,500 rpm.
The S line package comes as standard, takes a step up with comfort & sportiness including full Milano leather upholstery with sports seats, multifunction 3-spoke steering wheels with shift paddles, acoustic parking sensors and automatic headlight and wiper activation. On top of this, S line specification makes the most of the sharply sculpted lines of the A5 Sportback through exclusive grille and bumper treatments, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlamps with the unmistakable LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights.
The spacious high quality cabin seats five adults comfortably with meticulously finished surroundings. The elegant and functional interior is equipped with 3-zone automatic climate control, Audi symphony radio with 6-CD changer & SD card reader, split folding rear seats, a Driver’s Information System (DIS) and Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system, which allows drivers to fine-tune the amount of power steering assistance, the response of the throttle, the automatic transmission’s shift points & the adaptive damping system. In the new Audi A5 Sportback, the system adds a fourth ‘Efficiency’ option to its settings list, which originally offered ‘Comfort’, ‘Auto’ and ‘Dynamic’ modes. In the Efficiency mode, all the above functions, plus the air conditioning unit, are configured for minimal power consumption. If optional MMI navigation plus is fitted, Audi drive select also incorporates a fifth ‘Individual’ setting which allows even more precise tailoring of the various elements to suit personal preferences.
The new A5 Sportback incorporates numerous technologies and driver assistance features designed to aid the driver and enhance the overall driving experience. The driver information system with rest recommendation is standard in the A5 Sportback. It detects if the driver is getting tired and issues an appropriate warning. Features such as kerb view, which automatically tilts the passenger-side mirror down and parking system plus, makes reverse parking easier within system limits by indicating acoustically the distance between the vehicle and the object detected behind the vehicle, measured by ultrasonic sensors. The A5 Sportback is also equipped with Audi’s adaptive light for the xenon plus headlights. The headlamps automatically swivel accordingly to the steering wheel inputs to ensure that they always provide the ideal illumination for urban, country and highway applications.
The infotainment systems in the A5 Sportback are also top-of-the-line. The optional top unit is the MMI navigation plus, which can be combined with the Bluetooth car phone online, providing convenient link of the vehicle to the Internet, comes equipped with Google Earth Navigation and WLAN hotspot. In the area of multimedia, the Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System that sends over 1,400 watts of power to 14 loudspeakers is equipped as standard. With 5 attractive body colours to select from, and the A5 Sportback is available for test drives at selected Audi showrooms.
