Ford’s 1.0-liter EcoBoost Engine Wins (SMMT) Award for Automotive Innovation.
Ford’s 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine, the International Engine of the Year in 2012 and 2013, has won yet another prestigious prize, being presented with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) Award for Automotive Innovation.
Built in the United Kingdom, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivers 125 horsepower and, in a Ford Fiesta, returns 65.7 mpg UK and emits only 99 g/km. The small engine is also available in the Focus, B-MAX, C-MAX, Tourneo Connect and Transit Connect. The upcoming EcoSport and next-generation Mondeo will receive it as well.

Six years on, and with over 300,000 global sales, two back-to-back International Engine of the Year titles, and now this major Innovation award, we couldn’t be more proud,” said Graham Hoare, Ford director of global vehicle evaluation and verification.
