Volvo Limited “Black R” Cars Launched
Volvo and Polestar have announced the introduction of the Black R special edition package for the Volvo S60, V60 and XC60 in Sweden. The new models, which won’t be offered in any other country, celebrate Volvo’s victory in the 2013 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship (STCC).
The S60, V60 and XC60 Black R editions come with a new matte black front grille, Ixion wheels, lowered sports suspension, sport seats wrapped in R-design leather and a Sensus Connect infotainment system among other features.
Two Polestar-tuned engines are available for the three models. A T6 rated at 329 HP and 480 Nm of torque and a D5 diesel unit that delivers 230 HP and 470 Nm of torque.
“The cooperation with Polestar provides us with an amazing opportunity to spice our existing models. We are launching Black R to celebrate our double victory in STCC,” said Kristian Elvefors, director of sales at Volvo Cars Sweden.
