Perodua extends cash aid to flood hit states
Perodua is extending cash assistance to flood hit states, particularly in the east coast totalling RM225,000 as well as offering financial assistance to both its affected staff and dealers to cope with the recent flood. The cash assistance to the affected states is an addition to the RM400,000 contribution Perodua made to the victims of the floods in all worst hit flood areas since December 2014, bringing its total contribution to RM625,000 since December.
“This humble yet sincere contribution is to help the affected state governments in their process of rebuilding after the worst flood in 30 years,” Perodua President & CEO said.
Aside from cash donations, 100 Perodua volunteers were sent to the affected areas to help with the clean-up and to help with authorities in the distribution of goods needed by the flood victims. The compact car company also collaborated with Majlis Keselamatan Negara, an agency under the Prime Minister’s Department to coordinate relief efforts, to distribution of essential goods, which include blankets and food to flood victims.
On top of the assistance given, Perodua also offered assistance in the form of discounts on selected parts and free inspections to determine the amount of damage done to the vehicle.
“Our customers matter most to us and these value added services are provided to help relieve some of the burden our customers have to deal with during this disaster,” Aminar said.
On the assistance given, Aminar said that Perodua will reimburse towing service fees up to a maximum of RM100 (one hundred ringgit only) to the nearest Perodua service outlet. In total, there are 176 Perodua service outlets nationwide. (Terms and Conditions apply). In addition, Perodua is also offering 20% off selected genuine parts to Perodua owners whose vehicles are damaged by the floods. The parts include all electronic items, carpet, vehicle seats, door trims and engine overhaul gasket. Perodua’s customers, whose vehicles suffered flood related damages recently, are encouraged to call Perodua Smart Assist at 1-800-88-5555 for towing assistance.
