Infiniti QX30 Compact SUV To Rival Audi Q3 & Mercedes GLA
Infiniti has just released a full photo of its QX30 crossover concept in advance of the compact crossover’s debut at the upcoming Geneva auto show. Nissan’s luxury brand, said the concept “hints at a future premium compact vehicle and gives a strong indication of the brand’s commitment to this segment.”
“We wanted the spontaneous fluidity of the QX30 Concept design to cut through the urban clutter and rigidity, reflecting its go-anywhere and spur-of-the-moment nature,” Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti executive design director, said in the statement. “The QX30 Concept has been designed to make occupants feel safe and protected inside, and customers can drive in or out of the city without worrying about nicks to the chromework.”
The QX30 will be unveiled on March 3 during Infiniti’s press conference at the Geneva show and is targeted at the segment that is currently being led by the Mercedes GLA and the Audi Q3.
Infiniti expects the QX30 and its hatchback sibling, the Q30, to substantially increase sales in Europe. “They will make a big bang. Compact premium cars are by far the biggest premium segment in Europe. About 2.4 million premium cars are sold annually in western Europe and 1.2 million are compacts.
