Škoda Want to Protect Both Your Car and Your Dog
If you’re the sort of person who can’t go anywhere without your canine buddy or frequently take your dog on road trips, Škoda have come up with a range of accessories that just might pique your interest.
First of, there’s the doggy seatbelt. Not much explanation there, it’s a simple harness that clips on the the rear seat belt, as seen in the picture. There’s also the Backseat Protection that’s offered for its Citigo and Superb models which covers the entire backseat effectively preventing fur and dirt from messing up your upholstery and carpets. The material used on this mattress-like item is non-slip, water resistant, easy to wash and is fastened to the car’s headrests.
On the station wagon Fabia and Superb models, Škoda have come up with a number of other practical accessories. The first is a divider that separates your pet from whatever luggage you’re hauling. This effectively helps relieve any worry about suitcases sliding over and causing harm. These two cars also have a special Trunk grille, that retain visibility for the driver but prevent the animal from crossing over into the passenger compartment.
Škoda have even come up with double-sided floor mats – carpet on one side, water/dirt-proof on the other. Just flip it over when needed. A similar easy-to-clean, high-grip mat has been created to fit perfectly into the boot space of some its cars as well.
Many Malaysians have probably never even heard of Škoda, but the Czech-arm of the Volkswagen Group has been one of the conglomerate’s most successful brands. It may be considered entry-level in Europe, but it’s innovative practical ideas like these that have aided in the company’s success story. Here’s hoping other budget car brands can pick up on this sort of thinking.
