Leo Won The Oscars, but the Fiesta ST200 Won Our Hearts Today
Ford previewed photos and specs of its Fiesta ST200 before the grand reveal at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and boy are we excited. They’re calling it the most powerful Fiesta ever made for the mass market.
It’s still the 1.6-litre turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine that you find in the current ST making its way in here. But instead of 180hp, the ST200 puts out – you guessed it – 200hp. And instead of 240Nm of torque (which was already pretty mind-blowing), we get 289.
As a result, the ST200 gets to 100km/h in 6.7 seconds and has a maximum speed of 230km/h. The aesthetics are improved as well, with ‘storm grey’ being the exclusive exterior colour choice. Paired to the black 17” wheels and red brake calipers, Ford have managed to push the aggressiveness of the Fiesta’s design to the limit.
The ST200 will roll off production lines in Europe by June, and hopefully be available worldwide. Check out these photos until more is revealed:
