Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, has announced that the all-new Subaru Impreza will make its world debut at the 2016 New York International Auto Show which will be held later this month (23 March – 3 April).
The all-new Impreza is the first one of Subaru’s next-generation strategic vehicles envisioned in FHI’s Mid-Term Management Vision “Prominence 2020” announced in May 2014.
Together with the horizontally-opposed engines, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and EyeSight that represent Subaru’s core technologies, the new platform will constitute the basic foundation of the next generation of Subaru vehicles.
The main features that will be incorporated via the new-generation models include a new driving experience that does not only have focus on high performance, straight line stability, NVH suppression, comfort and higher safety values. Electrification will also be part of the game, although this is just a framework based on Prominence 2020; it will be interesting to see how (if) they use this propulsion system for the Impreza.
