The 5th generation of the very popular nameplate will get 7 seats (possibly like the American Honda pilot SUV pictured above) and a new 4WD system when it is launched in late 2017. There are already a number of 7-seat SUVs in the market like the Hyundai Sante Fe, Mitsubishi Outlander, and Nissan X-Trail. Honda might be increasing the wheelbase of the vehicle by 80mm. This will increase the overall length by 50mm.

There will also be a new engine version added to the CR-V 7-seater. The current CR-V is available with the four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine and in Europe there is the 1.6-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC diesel engine. Honda could also offer one of its all new VTEC Turbo engines for this SUV. We predict it would probably be the all-new 175bhp Earth Dreams 1.5-liter turbo which is used in the all new Civic but in a higher tune level.
