GreenTech Malaysia Explains Tesla Model S Special Programme
In a statement released today, Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia) clarifies that the Tesla Model S vehicles brought in via the Tesla Special Programme are not being sold by GreenTech Malaysia and that the programme is not open to public.
To clarify, GreenTech Malaysia is not an authorised agent or distributor for Tesla Motors and not in the business of selling Tesla vehicles. As per Tesla’s conventional business model, customers are advised to deal directly with Tesla on the acquisition of the vehicle. GreenTech Malaysia is only acting in a facilitative role for the Tesla Special Programme.
Under the Tesla Special Programme key decision makers and executives are invited to lease a Model S to appreciate and experience the immense technological and environmental benefits of driving one of the world’s leading electric vehicle (EV) models. This is expected to cultivate ardent EV enthusiasts to influence key decisions that could help pave the way for a more conducive policy environment to propel EV growth in Malaysia.
Through the introduction of the Tesla Special Programme, GreenTech Malaysia serves as a catalyst for developing awareness, understanding and confidence in EV technology to create the foundation for a thriving domestic EV market with a long-term target of encouraging Tesla to establish an office in Malaysia.
For reference, the Tesla Special Programme is open to Government Linked Companies, Government Companies as well as GreenTech Malaysia’s Corporate Members, with a view of expanding the programme to Multinational Corporations and Public Listed Companies.
The Tesla Special Programme provides two options namely, Lease Only and Lease-to-Own.
