Lucky Toyota Customer Bought a Hilux and Won a Sienta!
Four purchasers of the Toyota Hilux are very glad that they chose the vehicle, not just because it is Malaysia’s best-selling pick-up truck but also because they were the lucky winners of the ‘Toyota Hilux Buy & Win’ contest run by UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) last year. The lucky winner received his prize from Mr Khong Man Cheong, Senior Director of Vehicle Sales Group, UMWT at a presentation ceremony held at the UMWT Branch in Section 19, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The contest ran from 1 st September to 31 st December, 2016 and was open to all customers who purchased Toyota Hilux. Additionally, UMWT also rewarded customers who came to test drive and experience the latest Toyota Hilux at authorised Toyota showrooms nationwide with free Toyota merchandise.
The Grand Prize – a brand new Toyota Sienta compact MPV (worth RM99,900) was won by Mr. Chong Chin Fatt from Cameron Highlands. Mr. Chong had purchased a Hilux Single Cab 2.4 with manual transmission, the third Hilux single cab that he has owned since 2014.
Apart from the Grand Prize, 3 other Hilux customers also won Consolation Prizes of a 5 days/4 nights all-expenses paid trip to Tokyo, Japan for 2 persons. They were Lee Soon Wen from Pulau Pinang, Douin Madang from Miri, Sarawak, and Nik Muhamad Burhanuddin Bin Nik Mohamed from Jerantut, Pahang. All the three winners were familiar with the legendary reputation of the vehicle. For Douin Madang, she has her own particular motivations to own the Hilux as she is a proud owner of four units since 2011.
Like many Hilux owners, the four are using the vehicle for business purposes but for them, it is also just as practical for personal use as an alternative to a passenger car. In fact, with the latest 8 th generation of the Hilux, Toyota’s designers and engineers have given more passenger car-like features and a more comfortable ride as it is clear that the model has a multi-purpose role nowadays.
The Toyota Hilux comes in 6 variants, with Double Cab and Single Cab configurations. Customers also have a choice of two engines – 2.4 litres and 2.8 litres – to suit their requirements. These engines are the new Global Diesel (GD) engine series specially tuned for stronger low-end torque delivery, better response for acceleration, greater reliability under the most extreme conditions, and improved fuel efficiency.
As with all the latest models offered by UMWT, the Toyota Hilux comes with a 5-year warranty (subject to terms and conditions). The warranty, which has identical conditions of coverage throughout the 5 years, is transferable to the next owner if it is still in effect when sold off.
