BYTON full EV SUV will be priced from USD45,000

This new company from Nanjing China, introduced its debut concept vehicle at CES last Sunday. The SUV is a connectivity-focused electric crossover. BYTON is building their full electric cars from the ground up. They aim to become a global pioneer in the coming era of connected mobility by designing our cars as a fully connected smart device on wheels.

BYTON’s unveiling comes one year after Faraday Future made a grandiose splash at CES, only to widely scale back its ambitions within months. With a 49-inch wide infotainment screen and individual adjustable seats, Byton’s concept focuses on affordable comfort and utility rather than an ultra-luxury driving experience.

“Our first Byton is actually a high-tech digital space,” said Byton CEO Carsten Breitfeld.

BYTON is led by former BMW executive Carsten Breitfeld and Infiniti China head Daniel Kirchert.

BYTON which recently opened an office in Silicon Valley, plans to sell its first vehicle in China in 2019, and begin sales in the U.S. and Europe soon after. The company’s first vehicle will be modeled after the CES concept, which the company said contains 85% of the same design and parts as the production vehicle.

This flagship EV crossover, which customers can reserve starting Jan. 7 2017, will start selling at about USD45,000, with an entry-level trim that will have a range of 250 miles (400 km), and a high-end trim with a range of 325 miles.
