Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Launches New Dream Cars Range

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has officially launched three new models, namely the CLS-Class Coupe, the AMG GT C and the E-Class Cabriolet to offer more options within the company’s Dream Cars range.

AMG GT C (RM1,461,605 on-the-road without insurance)

The third GT variant to be launched in the country, the GT C is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine that churns out 557 hp, 47 hp above that of the GT S and 28 hp below the GT R. The maximum torque of 680 Nm is available from 1,900 to 5,750 rpm, enabling the open-top two-seater to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 316 km/h.

The GT C has also adapted the AMG Speedshift seven-speed dual clutch transmission in a transaxle arrangement at the rear axle. The first gear has a higher ratio, while seventh gear and the final drive have a lower ratio, making for even more agile acceleration and very fast responses to sudden accelerator movements.

The driver is able to set the car to his/her individual requirements using the AMG Dynamic Select Controller. The three transmission modes – Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and the individually programmable Individual allow a broad range of driving experiences from comfortable to very sporty.

Other standard equipment includes the AMG Ride Control sports suspension with Adaptive Damping System, as well as active rear-wheel steering from the GT R, rear-axle limited slip differential, speed-sensitive sports steering and three-stage ESP.

AMG CLS 53 4Matic+ (RM806,638 on-the-road without insurance)

Entering its third generation, the CLS introduction in Malaysia brings with it the first application of Mercedes-Benz’ new generation electrified twin-turbo engine with electric boost compression and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG).

The CLS 53 is powered by the new 3.0-litre inline-six mill that makes 435 hp dan 520 Nm of torque. The engine gets an additional 22 hp and 250 Nm from the EQ Boost starter-alternator, which is a part of the 48 V on-board electrical system.

Coupled with with the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission, the four-door coupe accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, and with the Driver’s package achieves a top speed of 270 km/h. The combined fuel consumption is 8.7 l/100 km, and the combined CO2 emissions 200 g/km.

The CLS 53 rides on the AMG Ride Control+ air suspension with sporty spring/damper set-up and continuously adjustable damping ADS+ (Adaptive Damping System) which reduces body roll. The cabin features two 12.3-inch displays and the new AMG Performance steering wheel.

CLS 450 (RM650,034 on-the-road without insurance)

Similar to its AMG counterpart, the CLS 450 also features the new drivetrain, though the output is reduced to 367 hp and 500 Nm, with an extra 22 hp and 250 Nm provided by the EQ Boost system. It achieves a top speed of 250 km/h and needs 4.8 seconds to complete the 0-100 km/h sprint.

The new CLS generation has many things in common with the new S-Class, including the range of driving assistance and safety systems which comprise of Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Attention Assist, Speed Limit Assist and the occupant protection system Pre-Safe.

It is also equipped with Multibeam LED headlamps that produces the maximum light intensity permitted by law, which results in the brightness of the main beam headlamps remaining above the reference value of 1 lux over a distance of more than 650 metres.

E 300 Cabriolet AMG Line (RM588,888 on-the-road without insurance)

Complementing the recently-launched S-Class Cabriolet and C-Class Cabriolet, the E-Class Cabriolet is only available in the E 300 variant for the Malaysian market.

The fully automatic acoustic soft top is available in dark brown, dark blue, red or black. Its multi-layered structure reduces wind and driving noise, which makes it easy for the occupants to hear each other talk, even when driving at high speed. It can be completely opened and closed in 20 seconds, and at speeds up to 50 km/h.

The E 300 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that makes 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.

Standard equipment includes Dynamic Body Control suspension, Multibeam LED headlights, and Dynamic Select system with Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+ and Individual modes.
