Volkswagen to recall Tiguan & Touran to avoid fires

Volkswagen is in the news again……negative news that seems to be its way recently. The company now has to issue a recall for about 700,000 Tiguan SUVs and Touran MPVs worldwide due to a possible lighting defect, a German trade magazine Kfz-Betrieb reported this Monday.

The magazine reported that humidity can cause a short circuit at the panoramic roof’s light strip of the affected cars. A short circuit in the LED-module could cause scorching damage on the roof and possibly set the vehicle on fire, the magazine said, citing a company spokesman. Good news for Malaysian VW Tiguan owners as there were no Tiguans sold here with the panoramic roof.
