This Volvo S90 has won more global awards than any of its competitors and it looks expensive both inside and out.
The proportions of the S90 really make it stand out from the crowd. The bonnet is designed to look long enough to accommodate a large V8. This gives the car an immediate presence on the road. You can sense its importance just by looking at it.
At the front, 23 chrome-finished concave ribs appear to float against a black backdrop. This isn’t a ‘signature grille’ – it’s unique to the S90 and no other Volvo.
The interior was penned by ex-Bentley designer Robin Page, looks more like it belongs in a car costing twice its price. The design approach is very much driver-centric. The entire cabin centres around the vertical iPad-sized Sensus display. Flanking this is two large chrome-finned air vents. The symmetry is broken with the passenger side receiving a large wood trim piece. It’s an uncluttered, easy to navigate interior that puts functionality first, but doesn’t compromise on great retro styling.
