Malaysian ‘Flying Car’ becoming a laughing stock of the global automotive community

Why is the global automotive community laughing at us? Simple, first we had a quest to build our very own electric car. Then now we have a Minister saying we are ready to build a flying car. Next there will be a statement saying we have the technology for teleportation… Star Trek’s method of transportation.

Minister of Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof has just made a statement saying that there is already a prototype which is fully driven by local technology. He also confidently added that the car would be safe and capable of flying at low altitudes at a reasonable speed.

He added that this prototype would cost slightly over RM1 million to build and through the flying car project, the government wanted to create an environment that stimulates people to think about new technologies. Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan went on to say that the project will also utilize the country’s capabilities in the aerospace, drone, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and automotive sectors.
