Range Rover SV Coupe Production Cancelled
Yes, its is confirmed that this luxury SUV Coupe project has been shelved even before making and delivering one unit to the 999 potential orders that was received after its first showing at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
“We made the difficult decision to inform our customers that the Range Rover SV Coupe will not continue in production. Instead, we are focusing our resources and investments on the next generation of world-class products, “a Land Rover spokeswoman said. “Our special division, SVO, continues to develop exciting cars that push the boundaries of luxury, performance and capacity. For example, the new Jaguar F-PACE SVR will begin delivering in just a few weeks and we have several new models in development. ”
Most likely, this step is part of JLR’s plan to save 2.5 billion pounds over the next year and a half, one that was announced earlier this month along with the dismissal of 4,500 employees.
This coupe was supposed to have a 5.0 liter V8 Supercharged that produces 565bhp and 700 Nm of torque. The gearbox was an 8-speed automatic allowing for a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.3 seconds while maximum speed was limited to 265km/h.
