Volkswagen In Selayang Has Just Closed Down

We drove past the Volkswagen 4S centre in Selayang Kuala Lumpur earlier today and found workers replacing the Volkswagen signage and installing a new Proton signboard. This full-fledged Volkswagen dealership which also served as the second Volkswagen Technical Service Centre in Malaysia opened its doors officially on December 3rd 2015.

Crane working to replace the signboard this morning

Situated at Taman Perindustrian Selayang, Batu 8 1/2, Jalan Ipoh, 68100, Batu Caves along the main road heading towards Kuala Lumpur, this is now going to be a full fledged Proton 4S as there are already new Proton cars in the showroom & upstairs storage area and there are signboards advertising its opening this May 2019.

HI! Proton looking for new staff

If you are reading this and have bought a new Volkswagen from Goh Brothers Selayang in the past 4 years please do not worry as your vehicle warranty is still valid at all other existing Volkswagen dealers nationwide. Here is the link to check the locations of all other dealers.

This Selayang showroom was officiated in December 3rd 2015 by Armin Keller, the Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia at the time and Goh Kian Sin, Chairman of Goh Brothers. Their very experienced after sales manger, Chong Fui Dick together with 29 staff took care of this impressive RM25 million facility.

The signboards hanging outside the showroom also says they are looking for staff and we wonder why they did not keep their previous well trained staff to run this new Proton showroom.

This impressive Volkswagen center was operated by Goh Brothers and has a floor area of 55,000 square feet over 5 levels.

Workshop empty for now

The RM3 million service centre had been dedicated over 3 floors with an impressive 20 work-bays. At launch there was mention of a possible expansion to the remaining 2 floors with an addition of 18 work bays.

The outlet also had a 3,000 square feet, 4-storey parts storage facility with some 4,000 items readily available at anytime. The parts were regularly replenished from the centralized parts centre in Shah Alam, Selangor as well as Singapore.

Goh Brothers spent a sizeable RM1.5 million on the Body & Paint workshop which at the time was the only authorized centre in KL North. It had 2 spray booths, 2 accident repair preparation bays, alignment bench, and a mechanical measuring system to ensure precision in collision repair. All equipment has been Volkswagen-approved.

Goh Brothers Motor Sdn. Bhd. is an enterprise in Malaysia, with the main office in Bukit Mertajam. It operates in the Motor Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Parts and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers industry. The company was established on June 26, 2006. It is still a Volkswagen dealer in other states.
