Why do Malaysians Fight Officers After Breaking the Rules?

We’ve seen it time and time again. So many Malaysians, especially those living in the Klang Valley, think double parking is a birthright. Yes, we’re still against vandalising their cars, but there’s really no defence for those who cause trouble with enforcement officers.

Take a look at this clip below. The offender appear has double parked his Nissan and was issued a summons. His vehicle was in the midst of being towed when he stepped in to block the officers from doing their duty.

One of the onlookers says that he’s a lawyer. If this is true, he really should know better. By right he should let the officers tow his car away, then pay for it to be released at the depot.

If we Malaysians want to see improvement, why are we still stopping those officers who are enforcing the law? Had an incident like this taken place overseas, even if a Malaysian was the offender, he/she would not dare to get in the way of the enforcement officers.

If you watch the entirety of the clip, towards the end you’ll see that he tries defend himself by saying that the officers offered to not tow his car if he paid up immediately and then the altercation gets slightly physical. There was really no need to escalate things in the first place.
