BMW Motorrad Malaysia Launches 3 New Adventure Bikes
The recent BMW Motorrad Night Fuel event saw the launch of three new BMW motorcycles, namely the F 850 GS Adventure, R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure.
F 850 GS Adventure Highlights
- Two-stage adjustable windshield
- Hand protectors
- New upside-down telescopic fork
- Aluminium double-sided swingarm with central spring strut
- LED headlamps
- 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster
- Wide enduro footrests
- Adjustable shift and foot brake levers
- Engine protection bars
- Stainless-steel luggage rack
- 853cc parallel-twin engine with 95 hp at 8,250 rpm and 92 Nm at 6,250 rpm
- Rain and Road modes
- Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and Automatic Stability Control (ASC)
- 23-litre fuel tank
- Cross-spoke wheels (21-inch front, 17-inch rear) with aluminium rim rings
R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure Highlights
- LED headlamps and daytime running lights
- Matte black coating for the powertrain, Agate Grey metallic matte main frame and black anodised tube handlebars
- Multifunctional instrument cluster with 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen
- BMW Keyless Ride and Cruise Control
- 1,254 cc, air/liquid-cooled boxer engine producing 136 hp at 7,750 rpm and 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm.
- Top speed of 200 km/h and fuel consumption of 4.75 l/100 km for both models
- Rain and Road riding modes
- ASC and Hill Start Control as standard
- Electronic Suspension Dynamic ESA “Next Generation” with fully automatic load compensation.
- Optional Riding Modes Pro feature with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), ABS Pro, Hill Start Control Pro and Dynamic Brake Assistant (DBC).
- Shift Assistant Pro is available as standard
- Knock sensor system allows the use of fuels with a rating of less than RON95
- New digital engine control called BMW-O
- R 1250 GS is available in Style HP and Style Exclusive variants, while R 1250 GS Adventure is available in Ice Grey and Style HP
The retail prices (on the road, without insurance, and with BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s All-New 3-Year Warranty and 3-Year Roadside Assistance Programmes) for the new models are as follows:
- BMW F 850 GS Adventure : RM88,500
- BMW R 1250 GS : RM116,500
- BMW R 1250 GS Adventure : RM125,500
- BMW R 1250 GS Adventure HP : RM127,500
With the Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, ownership of the F 850 GS Adventure starts from RM1,080 per month, the R 1250 GS starts from RM1,420 per month and the R 1250 GS Adventure starts from RM1,530 per month. These are based on estimates of 80% loan on a 4-year tenure.
