0Why only 20% toll discount for private vehicles on some highways
Hari Raya 2019 celebrations is made even more cheerful as PLUS and LPT2 highway customers enjoy 20% toll discount on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Wednesday, 5th June.
But why only on some highways and not all toll highways and why only for one day and not for at least 3-4 days for those travelling to and fro? This question needs to be answered and we wait for the public relations reply in the coming days.
Also, the 20% discount dose not even cover the cost of drinks at a highway Rest & Relax (R&R) restaurant for a family of five….tale for example the below mentioned journey.
If we as a family of five was driving from the Damansara toll up north to our family house in Alor Setar, we will be enjoying a discount of about (RM54.00 x 20%) RM10.80 which will not buy 5 drinks at the R&R.
The 20% toll discount is for private vehicle customers traveling on the North-South Expressway (NSE), the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), the Seremban-Port Dickson Expressway (SPDH), the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Highway (Linkedua), the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE), the East-Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) and the Penang Bridge.
For example, if the customer enters the highway at 10 pm on 4th June but exits the highway at 2 am on 5th June, the customer will enjoy the discount.
However, the discount will not be offered for toll transactions made at the Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza (Linkedua). The discount also excludes customers who are currently enjoying the existing Penang Bridge 20% toll discount.
