By now, you may have already seen the photos on social media, and yes it’s true. Our Yang di-Pertuan Agong now has an awesome Honda Civic Type R. Here’s the full story from Honda.

Honda Malaysia (or the Company) today presented the Civic Type R to His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda The Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah as a gift in celebration of His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s official birthday at a handover ceremony held at Istana Negara. Being the most powerful Honda model sold in Malaysia currently, the Civic Type R which was crowned ‘Champion of Champions’ in year 2017 is an ideal fit as an escort car for the Malaysian King.

The Civic Type R was the model which claimed the title of ‘World’s Fastest Front-Wheel-Drive’ production car at Germany’s legendary Nurburgring race track when it was first introduced in 2017. This model is not only ideal to drive on track but also on the road as a daily commute car. On behalf of Honda Malaysia, I am truly honoured to present the Civic Type R to His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong for his daily use as an escort car. Adding to the celebration, I am also pleased to present another revolutionary Honda model – the Civic 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged Premium to Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda The Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj as an escort car.”

The 3-Way Driving Modes control the Adaptive Damper System (ADS), Drive-by-Wire throttle (DBW), Electronic Power Steering (EPS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), traction and brake system.
The Civic Type R is well equipped with safety features namely Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Dynamic Guidelines. Additionally, the Civic Type R is furnished with ISO Fix and Six airbags for all-round protection of the occupants.
