0Mitsubishi New Compact Car Range Not For Malaysia
Our National Automotive Policy does not encourage manufacturers to import or assembly of small compact cars
The Mitsubishi Colt or Attrage compact car has been missing a new model some years now. Now comes a brand new model and there is good chance that it will not come to Malaysia despite being launched in our neighboring country.
There are two version available and both versions of this Mitsubishi feature sharp and dynamic exterior designs to bring them in line with the Mitsubishi language which debuted with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and has since evolved to help give the Eclipse Cross, ASX and L200 Series 6 their distinctive Mitsubishi-ness.
The restyling of the Mitsubishi Attrage (also known as the Mirage in Japan) does not go unnoticed. The logo of diamonds has a whole new face. The design evolves deeply both front and rear with a more assertive style than before, and in line with the catalog of the manufacturer. The changes are numerous with a radical overhaul, Mitsubishi teams have changed the hood, bumpers, grille and optics. This new Attrage also receives a long spoiler to finish the roof.
Technology
The facelift also benefits the cockpit with an evolution of upholstery, trim and inserts. This new Attrage hosts the multimedia Smartphone-linked Display Audio system with touch screen. The driver is also entitled to new instrumentation with inscriptions presented as being more legible. It can also build on new driving aids such as the Pre-Collision Cruise Reduction (FCM) with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Change Alert (LDW), Automatic Headlights (AHB) and reversing camera.
Engines
This Attrage restyling also has a positive impact on the consumption of its 3-cylinder gasoline engines 1.0L good for 71hp and a 1.2L good for 80 hp. The engineers reworked the 5-speed manual gearbox and added a 130A high-efficiency alternator. The CVT gearbox remains available for the 1.2L.
This 2020 model is already on sale in Thailand since the middle of last month. For the ASEAN market this is where Mitsubishi produces this all new model at the Laem Chabang Plant in the city of the same name from the Chonburi province.
