Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Redesigned by SketchMonkey
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is an Italian answer to the BMW 5-Series and many find it to be a more characterful and sensual car. However, in 2020, the design looks a little too soft and not quite as focused as some of its competition. Just think about the latest Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima and you’ll understand what we mean – these cars may not be to your taste, but they’re more intricate, modern and interesting to look at than the Giulia.
This is probably why Youtube SketchMonkey decided to give his favourite variant of the Giulia a slight design tweak to make it stand out more.
If you watch his video below, you’ll learn his reasoning for choosing this specific variant of the Giulia. He also seems very respectful of both Alfa Romeo’s traditional values and history, while also paying respect to the current Giulia Quadrifoglio’s overall shape and aesthetic.
All he really does is give the face a little more purpose and focus with some angular lines. He does this by making the Scudetto grille the focus of car’s face. To that end, he sculpts hood lines and reshapes the bumper and design elements to align correctly with that iconic triangular grille. This is the final result, notice how subtle but powerful his changes are:
Here’s a before and after:
We recommend you subscribe to SketchMonkey’s Youtube channel for more of these really cool redesigns. He sometimes reimagines classic cars for the modern age, which is also quite interesting.
About the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
The Giulia Quadrifoglio is a showcase for Alfa Romeo excellence and an even stronger expression of performance, winning DNA and unmistakably Italian style.
Its class-leading performance is guaranteed by the powerful 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo powerplant in 100% aluminum, capable of unleashing no less than 510 hp and 600 Nm maximum torque at 2,500 rpm. Delivery to the wheels is the responsibility of the Alfa™ Active Torque Vectoring system. The 8-speed automatic transmission is calibrated to optimize fluidity and comfort so the vehicles can easily be driven on all terrains. Only in RACE mode do the cars express their full potential with lightning-fast gear changes in only 150 milliseconds.
Each Quadrifoglio is fitted with a range of systems designed to enhance the pleasure of driving, and offer the motorist the most authentic, engaging experience behind the wheel. These include Alfa™ Active Suspension, Alfa™ DNA Pro selector with RACE mode, and the Alfa™ Active Aero splitter in the Giulia. The systems are all coordinated and adapted in real time by the Alfa™ Chassis Domain Control unit, constantly ensuring the ideal conditions for vehicle and driver.
The soundtrack accompanying the Quadrifoglio customer driving experience is provided by a four-output Dual Mode exhaust system, even bolder and more engaging in Race mode.
